An airport agent fell from a Transnusa airlines aircraft in Indonesia.

In a rare and scary incident, a stepladder was removed from an Airbus A320 with the door still open at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Cengkareng on 13 May 2024.

The ground agent was still in talk with the crew while leaving the plane and didn’t notice that the stepladder was already gone.

This incident is breaking basic aviation rules as Jas Airport services workers are not supposed to remove it while the door of the aircraft is still open.

According to source, the man was getting treatment immediately and gratefully didn’t receive serious injury.

The incident occurred due to miscommunication between the flight coordinator (FC) officer and the passenger boarding stairs (PBS) officer from PT JAS, causing the FC officer to be  unaware of the PBS position when leaving the aircraft. TransNusa (PT TransNusa Aviation Mandiri) and PT JAS have ensured that the officer involved  in the accident has received medical treatment and is in good condition.
