According to eyewitnesses, the aircraft was accelerating down the runway when a loud bang was heard followed by a flash of flame coming from one of the engines.

The pilot immediately initiated an emergency stop, causing the plane to decelerate rapidly and veer slightly off course before returning to the runway and safely taxiing back to the terminal.

A spokesperson for Cathay Pacific confirmed the incident, stating that flight CX431 aborted its takeoff due to an engine technical problem. The airline apologized for any inconvenience caused and emphasized that the safety of its passengers and crew is always its top priority.
