REPORT KLM Boeing 737 experienced a serious incident in a very late takeoff from Nuremberg Airport

A KLM Boeing 737-700 experienced a serious incident when it made a late takeoff from runway 28 at Nuremberg Airport in Germany.

The Boeing 737-700 with registration PH-BGF was performing flight KL1884 from Nuremberg to Amsterdam. The pilots had planned to use the full length of the runway (2700 meters) by taxiing via taxiway “A.”

However, they mistakenly lined up via taxiway “B,” reducing the runway to 1962 meters long, as reported by the Aviation Herald. As a result, the aircraft did not have enough runway to reach takeoff speed and became airborne too late.

The aircraft continued and touched down safely in Amsterdam. There were no injuries to the passengers or crew.

The cause of the incident is currently being investigated. However, it is believed that the pilots may have been fatigued or distracted, playing a role in the incident.
