Air France #AF934 from Paris CDG to Antananarivo is declaring an emergency.

Air France flight #AF934 departed Paris CDG at 10:45 CEST to Antananarivo, the capital and largest city of Madagascar.

The Boeing Boeing 777-200ER (registration F-GSPZ) departed from runway 08L then climbed to 33,000 ft.

Pilots declared an emergency (squawk 7700) while on approach to Paris.

The crew decided to turn around over Egypt due to “precautionary measures regarding the Middle East situation” the airline said to AIRLIVE.

A Madagascar presidential candidate on board AF934 said it turned back over Egypt today after the plane in front nearly got hit by a missile.

UPDATE 17:50 CEST
The Aircraft is on hold, North of Paris at 11,000 ft.

UPDATE 18:12 UTC
Flight #AF934 has landed back at Paris CDG Airport on runway 08R, about 7 hours after deparure.

Air France flight #AF814 to Nairobi also returned to paris CDG on the same flight path.

Yesterday, Air France #AF470 to Mauritius declared an emergency and returned to CDG due to a technical issue.

UPDATE 20:41 CEST
Air France confirms that, as a precautionary measure, it has decided to suspend overflight of the Red Sea area until further notice. This decision follows the suspicion of a crew observing a luminous object at high altitude in the Sudan area.
