The Six people onboard the Cirrus SR 22 plane had a lucky escape after engine failure and deployed Parachutes.

The plane that belongs to Brazil took off from Belo Horizonte International Airport (CNF) and unfortunately faced an engine failure. Luckily the plane was Cirrus SR 22, as it had a parachute.

The Cirrus SR 22 is a Single-engine, five-seater composite aircraft built in 2001 by Cirrus Aircraft of Duluth, Minnesota. It is the most-produced GA aircraft of the 21st century.

Lucky Escape, as the plane had a Parachute

The incident has been caught on camera by a person nearby the site. Following the engine, failure pilot deployed the parachute, and the plane smoothly came down. All passengers onboard these special aircraft are safe, including the baby.

The staff of the fire assistance department were first to reach the scene and located the four adults and two children — one merely three days old — bewildered but uninjured following the impact.

As reported by the national news, Last month, another Cirrus lightweight aircraft belonging to Brazil had to deploy its parachute after conceiving engine trouble, saving the lives of people on board.

The Cirrus Sr 22 is one of the rare aircraft that has a whole-plane emergency recovery parachute system, which the company named the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS).

The purpose of CAPS is to save the lives of people onboard the aircraft. However, it does not save the plane from receiving structural damage. The plane also has emergency side doors in case there is a failure in the main door following the landing.

The Brazilian news site aeroin.net reported, “By registration PS-VAC, the plane belongs to a firm of Caratinga, city of the interior of Minas Gerais and probable destination of Cirrus, which took off at 11:30 am. Five minutes later, there was a failure when it flew over the city of Caeté, still in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.”

They further reported, “According to ANAC data, the plane is quite new and was manufactured in 2022. Unconfirmed information conveys that the aircraft was only 43 hrs into the flight.”
