On 22nd July, an Emirates Airbus A380 collided with a jet bridge at Paris CDG Airport, damaging its engine cowling.

The Airbus A380-800 with registration A6-EDO arrived as flight EK71 from Dubai. However, the A380 collided with an airbridge while taxiing to the gate. As a result, the aircraft’s left outer engine was damaged but caused no injuries to anyone.

The damaged A380, manufactured in 2010, is currently grounded. As a consequence, the return flight EK72 from Paris to Dubai has been canceled.

Emirates has not yet released any details regarding the incident or the extent of the damage. Investigations are likely underway to determine how the collision occurred.

Emirates can confirm that EK071 from Dubai to Paris on 22 July 2024 came into contact with the air bridge as it taxied to the stand upon arrival. All passengers disembarked safely. Subsequently, EK072 was cancelled, so engineers could assess the aircraft. Affected passengers were rebooked on the next available flights.

Emirates statement to AIRLIVE

Passengers booked on the return flight EK72 are advised to contact Emirates for rebooking options or further information.
